Caravan Circle

A dinner for Muslims building in tech and AI. Twelve of us at one table, for as long as it runs.

What happens

You turn up at 6:30, we sit down at 7, and we eat. That's most of it. Nobody presents, there's no panel and no pitch round, and the table doesn't break into smaller groups — past about fourteen people a dinner splits into side conversations and you spend the night talking to whoever you happened to sit next to. Twelve is the number where that doesn't happen.

The room is founders, engineers, operators and a few researchers, plus some people who write cheques. We aim for about half the table to be technical. There's no guest of honour — everyone's there on the same footing, which is the part most dinners get wrong.

Every seat is decided by a person reading your application, not by who clicked first. We build each table deliberately: who sits next to who, what everyone's deep in, who'd get something out of meeting whom.
